The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly
Farmers do NOT like technology.
Acquiring users to talk to was challenging in the start, then we targeted a younger demographic and got to understand why older farmers were hesitant to adopt this “new” technology.
Would you swipe on Agriculture?
The most important feature of this product was building out a platform that supported anonymity for farmers. While uncovering competitors in this space and benchmarking all the other platforms, and social media channels, it was clear that it stirred up a lot of controversial topics.
A lot of the agriculture communities were extremely hesitant to post, comment, or ask questions. So we planted and grew an app that allowed them to ask questions anonymously which sprouted a new type of discussion in Ag.
What I got out of this opportunity:
Working alongside AVP gave me a place to stand with a lot of smart and talented individuals, I learned a lot and got to lead a very talented team.
Takeaway:
Running as fast as humanly possible!
I really had to figure out how to run before I walked at AVP cause they were lacking so many materials, practices, and design standards. I had to alleviate a lot of design debt in such a short time while juggling a team and growing at the same time.
